Make Up Revolution blush in Treat

Hi Beauts.

I bring to you yes, another make up revolution review. This time around I shall be reviewing their powder blush in 'Treat'

I currently own two other powder blushes from the brand, and was so impressed by the quality that I just had to add another to my collection.
I usually gravitate towards pinks, mauve's and berries, but decided to move out of my comfort zone and pick this shade up which is more of a peach blush.

As I already mentioned, this is a peach shade and is so pretty. I've worn this with and without bronzer and contour and just love it both ways.
Without bronzer and contour it just adds a little warmth to the cheeks and really makes the skin look glowy. With bronzer and contour, it definitely helps pull out the contour and helps the cheek bones look more defined and just brings the whole bronzed look together.

One of the reasons I've tried to stay away from peach shades in the past, is because I find them to be a little warm toned for me and can pull of quite an orange tone on my skin. However, this one doesn't do that at all and looks beautiful on my pale skin.

The pigmentation is so intense with all of the blushes I've tried from MUR and I find myself reaching for a stippling brush to apply as I can sometimes be a little heavy handed. They blend out so well and I've had no problem with fall out or them being too powdery.

For £1.00 per blush, we're really getting a bargain!!! I shall definitely be adding more shades to my ever expanding blush collection, and I look forward to trying out their cream blushes too.

What's your favourite Make Up Revolution item in your collection?

Make up Revolution blush palette

Hi Beauts.

I'm pretty sure that every beauty blogger and addict have tried at least one product from the brand Make Up Revolution, am I right?
I am SO impressed with everything I've bought and tried so far and haven't stopped using one thing in particular since I bought it. And that is their blush palette in 'Sugar and Spice'

Now I'm a major blush junkie and I think that my blush drawer is the most overflowing out of any other make up drawer I have. As soon as I spotted this palette in Superdrug in I snatched it up and bolted for the tills. They have two blush palettes out currently, this one which pinks and another called 'Hot Spice' which consists of more orange and peach tones.
I went for 'Sugar and Spice' as pinks and mauve's are my favourite colours to wear, and I can't really pull off anything to warm/orange toned.

This palette comes with 8 shades: 6 mattes and 2 shimmery baked shades. The blushes range from cool toned peaches to bright pinks and on the end we have a baked pink and a baked pink toned highlight shade.
I already new from using Make Up revolution single blushes in the past, that this palette would not be a disappointment in the least. And I was right.

Each blush is beyond pigmented, I literally have to ever so slightly dip the very end of my blush brush into each shade and I have enough to apply to my cheek. I never have to reapply my blush through the day as these are super long lasting and at the end of each day my cheeks still have the same amount of blush as they did when I applied in the morning

If you're yet to try anything from Make Up Revolution yet, I'd recommend giving one of their blushes a go first. I promise you won't be disappointed!!

These palettes retail for £6.00 each and can now be found in most larger Superdrugs and on the Make Up Revolution website

What I use to bronze, contour and highlight

Hi Beauts.

Only recently have I started to bronze and contour on a daily basis. I dipped in and out of it for a while but didn't really add it into my every day make up routine, because I felt I wasn't that good at it.
However, for the past few weeks I've bronzed and contoured each morning, and have had a few comments on my make up from people I work with.
So today, I figured I'd share which products and brushes I use as I thought it might help some of my fellow pale chicks out there.

After applying my foundation and powder, I go in with my FashionistA bronzer in the shade 'LA' and use my Real Techniques blush brush. I never use this as a blush brush as I feel it's too big for what I want. This bronzer is pretty neutral with a small warmth to it which is perfect for my skin tone

Next for contour. I recently bought myself the NYX blush in 'Taupe' after hearing how great it is for a contour shade. It is definitely cool toned and doesn't look muddy. I apply this with a very light hand on my Barbra Daily angled blush brush. I can see where the product needs to be now, but found it very helpful to do the fish face when I was first starting out.

Third but not last is blush. I think everyone wears blush right? Again I apply this with an angled blush brush, and apply it on top and just above where I contoured. I'm currently using and loving the Make Up Revolution blush palette in 'Sugar and Spice. I love each shade, in particular then third from the left on the bottom

And last in my little routine is highlight. I've been loving The Balm Mary-Loumaniser lately and apply this to the very tops of my cheek bones with the elf blush brush, as it's quite a small brush and applies just enough product

Well, that's my easy peasy routine. As I say this has now become part of my every day make up and I really enjoy wearing it. On a day to day basis I do contour quite lightly and tend to deepen the colour for an evening.

What do you use for bronzing and contouring?

Products I've been loving

Hi Beauts.

As I haven't posted a favourites in a while, I thought I'd share some products that I've been loving these past few months. Some are new things I've recently been trying out and loving and some are rediscoveries.

* FashionistA bronzer in 'LA' - I've never really been one for bronzer, if I'm honest because I could never find one that suited my skin tone. However I dug deep into my make up collection and pulled out this little bronzer. Bronzing and contouring has now become and every day essential for me

* NYX blush in 'Taupe' - Because I'm so pale, I find it hard to get a decent contour powder that doesn't look muddy on my skin. This blush is perfect for all of us pale skin ladies. It's a cool toned, light taupe shade that blends easily, and lasts on my skin all day

* Make Up Revolution blush palette 'Sugar and Spice'- This is a new palette to my collection, and one that will be a favourite for a very long time. It comes with 8 different pink toned blushes, that will suit everyone. The pigmentation I'd intense, the shades are gorgeous and the staying powder is amazing

* Make Up Revolution eyeshadow palettes - I couldn't pick one palette from the three that I have. Each one has outstanding pigmention, a beautiful shade range, they all blend like a dream and each contain mattes and shimmers

* Eyeko Skinny liquid eyeliner 'Black' - I'm a huge fan of eyeliner pens, and this one impressed me big time. It's so easy to control, it glides on effortlessly, it's super black and it stays put literally all day long

* The Bodyshop Amazonian wild lily fragrance mist - This smells AMAZING!! I kid you not, this could possibly be the nicest smelling thing I've ever sprayed on me. I won't even begin to try and describe it, but I will say that it smells so fresh and clean and I adore it!

What products have you been enjoying lately?

Make up Revolution liquid liner in Black

Hi Beauts.

Whenever I try something from a new brand, the first 3 things that I have to try out are their eyeliner, eyeshadow and lipstick. So when I made my make up revolution purchase I couldn't not throw their liquid liner into my basket.

As you may know, I've been pretty committed to using eyeliner pens rather than an actual liquid liner. However back before I discovered my love for the old felt tip, regular liquid liner was my holy grail product. The main thing that will win me over is the applicator followed by a close second of the actual consistency and finally the staying power.

Basically, for me a liner should have a firm applicator, I don't work well with thin brush like tips, definitely not too runny as I want to apply one coat and be good to go, and finally it needs to last all day. Let's test this bad boy out shall we?

Applicator: This is perfect. It's exactly how I like an applicator to be. It isn't too firm that I feel like my eyelid is getting dragged, but it isn't too flexible that I have no control over it. It definitely allows me to create the perfect line and wing.

Consistency: Again, perfect. It isn't too runny which is a must for me. Some liners I've used in the past have had a really thin consistency, and pretty much 'bled' so I had tiny lines of liner all along my lashline. This is really opaque too, so I only needed to apply one coat.

Make Up Revolution lipstick in Enchant

Hi beauts.

Quite a while back now, I posted a small haul post of some Make up revolution products that I bought. I've already reviewed a few other products which I have linked at the end, and wanted to share my thought on the lipstick in Enchant that I got. I wasn't too sure which colour to pick out when I placed my order, so went for the safe option of a pink

As soon as I opened this, I knew I'd get so much use out of it. Although I have quite a few pink shades in my collection already, I don't have one like this.

I'd describe the shade as a medium blue toned pink, and if you love purple pinks then you'll be a fan of this.

I figured from swatching it that it would be a very creamy formula, and as I applied it to my lips I was right. It's probably the creamiest, smoothest lipstick I own, it literally glides on like butter and left my lips feeling moisturised.

Can such a creamy lipstick be long lasting? It can indeed. I first applied this at 7am, and 2 hours, a cup of coffee and a Milky Way later, my lipstick was still intact. Granted it wasn't as vibrant as it was at 7am but I still had a fair amount of colour and my lips still felt moisturised.
I did wear off completely by around 11am which in my opinion, is amazing!!

I can't wait to try out more shades!

May Favourites 2014

Hi Beauts.

I have to say, even though it's only May, I've had an amazing year so far and the fun is just beginning! Anyway, once again it's time to share with you all my monthly favourites:

* Superdrug uplifting red cherry and fig shampoo and conditioner - These are so inexpensive, but so amazing. They both leave my hair feeling ridiculously sort and smell gorgeous!!

* MUA matte perfect primer - I ran out of my Along came Betty 'fix me' mattifying stick, and have finally found something to rival it. This stuff is amaze balls. The smallest amount is all that you need, it keeps me looking matte and helps my make up stay put pretty much all day

* Elf Peachy Keen blush - This is a rediscovery, and it's pretty much the only blush I've used for the past 3 weeks. It gives a gorgeous glow to the face, and is perfect for the days I didn't want to wear a berry/pink shade

* Beauty UK Snob lipstick - I love this shade! I have a full review here if you want to read my full thoughts. But in a nutshell, this is a gorgeous dusky pink, it's in between a matte and satin finish and lasts reasonably well

* Make up revolution iconic 3 palette - I never thought I'd wear anything pink on my eyes as I'm cool toned and usually warm shadows make me look ill. However, I haven't been able to stop usong this palette the whole month of May. It has a great range of shadows, every one of them is pigmented and they're so smooth and easy to blend out

I also have to add a couple of songs that I've had on constant repeat, because they're just too amazing not to share with you all:

* Anastasia - Stupid little things
* Jason Derulo - Karma Sutra
* Jason Derulo - Fire
* Paloma Faith - Only love can hurt like this

What have you been loving Beauts?

Make Up Revolution baked mono eyeshadow in Celestial

Hi Beauts.

I recently posted a review of the mono eyeshadow I have from Make up Revolution in the shade Insomnia, and I wanted to follow it up with a review of the baked shadow I have from them called Celestial

I'm not big on baked products if  I'm honest as I've found that most products come off quite shimmery, and sometimes a lot of shimmer can look too much. But when I spotted the baked shadows for £1.50, I figured I may as well give at least one a go.

Celestial is an olive/khaki green shade with silver and green veining running through, and it is a beaut!! You may already know that greens and purples are my two favourite shades to wear as I have hazel eyes, and this shade definitely brings out the coulours of eyes.

When I first swatched this I noticed little silver glitters on my hand, and thought that my eyeballs would resemble that of a disco ball. However, when applied to my lid it's a gorgeous metallic shade with no hint of glitters.

The gold and silver seem to blend amazing with the green to give the metallic sheen. The pigmentation is incredible, and I found it just as vibrant and long lasting without a primer as I did with one. I never have a problem with eyeshadow creasing, and this was no exception.

I definitely need more of the baked shadows in my collection!

Make Up Revolution mono eyeshadow in Insomnia

Hi Beauts.

Today I bring to you an a review of an eyeshadow I can't get enough of, and that is Make Up Revolution's mono eyeshadow in Insomnia

I hadn't read or heard any reviews at the time of placing my order so decided to pick up one of the mono eyeshadows to try out. We all know that I'm a sucker for a purple eyeshadow so there's no way I couldn't not add this to my basket.

The packaging is plastic which has a hinge on one end and a small button on the other end which keeps the packaging closed. It is quite thin which I like as it does make it more travel friendly, and easier to pop in your everyday make up bag.

Now, how great are these inexpensive eyeshadows? Great! The pigmentation is amazing, one swipe and you have an intense colour payoff. I like to pack it into my outer V and blend into my crease, and it gives a gorgeous gradient effect doing it this way.
It is also super easy to blend out and so soft to apply too. I have found with the more inexpensive brands, that their eyeshadows are really hard to blend out. But not with this brand.

I'd describe this shade as a plum shade with a metallic pink sheen running through it. It's absolutely beautiful, and not a shade that I have in my collection already.

This is an eyeshadow that shall be getting a lot of love, and I can't wait to pick up a few more shades to try out too!

Have you tried any of the Make up Revolution eyeshadows?

April favourites 2014

Hi Beauts.

Time for a little round up of the products I loved throughout April. Grab a cuppa ladies, this could take a while.

* B. Sheer finish pressed powder - I think I've discovered my new favourite face powder. I got the lightest shade, I resemble Casper pretty much all year round, and it's a yellow toned which I love. I'm cool toned too which means anything remotely pink or warm toned looks ridiculous on me. It doesn't add a whole lot of coverage, but just enough and it keeps me matte pretty much all day

* elf blush in 'Blushing Rose' - This has been in my collection for months, and it's the only blush I've used all of April. It's the perfect berry shade (which is my favourite) and I've had so many compliments on my make up and always get asked what I have on my cheeks

* Make Up Revolution iconic 3 palette - This had to make it to my favourites. I hauled this recently and literally can't put it down. It's SO pigmented, the colour range is fantastic, none of the shadows crease and I just love it!

* MUA ever after matte eyeshadow palette - Another palette made it to my favourites, this time all matte shades. I reviewed this not too long ago and I've just loved using it. I use it alone for all matte looks, or use it in conjunction with my Iconic 3 palette to add a little depth. Again the pigmentation is great and I love the range of shades

* Make Up Revolution baked mono eyeshadow in 'Celestial' - Another goodie from Make Up Revolution, this time a single baked eyeshadow. One of my favourite shades to wear is green, so I couldn't resist buying this. It's a dark shimmery, olive toned green and looks absolutley stunning in the outer corner and V

* Beauty UK eyebrow pencil - My new favourite eyebrow product to use alongside my MUA eyebrow kit. I just find my eyebrows look more defined and put together when I use a pencil and then a powder. This one matches my brows and hair great, it's not too hard or soft so there's no tugging and it doesn't smudge like others I've tried in the past. Full review here

Review: Make up revolution cream blush in Frambroise Shake

Hi Beauts.

I think by now everyone has heard and discovered the newest brand to hit the market and that is Make Up Revolution.
If you haven't heard about them (where have you been??) Basically they are an inexpensive make up company who sell a vast array of products ranging from lipsticks, blushes, eyeshadows, mascara, basically the whole shebang.

The best thing is, products start out for as little as £1.00....how great is that?! A little while ago I made an online order which I hauled here and I've loved everything I got, so today wanted to share a review of their cream blush in 'Frambroisse Shake'

I've mentioned before that I'm not one for cream blush as i have oily skin and find powder products work the best for me, but I wanted to try one out from Make Up Revolution and see how it would work. And oh so well it worked.

I applied my foundation first than dipped a stippling brush into the blush to pick up a small amount of product and gently and lightly dabbed it onto my cheeks, and let me tell you even doing this gave an amazing amount of pigmentation! It applied so smoothly and evenly, and was extremely easy to blend out.

Did it last on my annoyingly oily/combo skin? It sure did. I've been working long hours lately so it was the perfect way to test out how well this would last. I get up and ready at 5:30am each morning and don't get home until around 5pm sometimes later, and I have to say this didn't budge or fade at all!

The shade is the perfect pink for the summer and I think it will look pretty on all skin tones, I pretty much resemble casper right now and it still looks fab.

There are 4 shades to choose from and they retail for a very small price of £1.50, at a price like that I think I may have to get the other three too!

Have you tried these cream blushes? What's your favourite shade?

Make up revolution haul

Hi Beauts.

It's been so long since I last posted, ok it's been 4 days but that is a long time for me as I like to post every other day. I started a new job a couple of weeks ago and literally haven't had any spare time to blog.
I did, however, have time to place a wee little order with a new brand called 'Make Up Revolution' and wanted to share with you all what I bought.
This brand is pretty new, and is in the same price range as MUA (we all know how much I love me some MUA) and the range of products is amazing.
Without rambling anymore, on with the haul:

* Redemption palette iconic 3  £4.00 - This was the first item to hit my basket. It's supposed to be an exact dupe for the Urban Decay naked 3 which I've wanted for a while but never bought, looking at swatches it looks the exact same

* Mono eyeshadow in Insomnia £1.00 - I love purple eyeshadow and this looked so pretty

* Baked mono eyeshadow in Celestial £1.50 - Again I love greens and couldn't resist this beauty (I've already used this and it's a BEAUT!)

* Liquid eyeliner in Black £1.50 - I'm a little obsessed with eyeliner, and have to try a new one out whenever I make an order with a new brand

* Cream blush in Frambroise Shake £1.50 - I really like the MUA cream blush and wanted to see if I'd like this one too, plus it's such a pretty shade

* Lipstick in Enchant £1.00 - Who can pass up a £1.00 lipstick? Certainly not me. This shade looks perfect for spring and summer

Well that's it for this haul, I already know that come pay day I'll be placing another order. I've swatched everything I have and absolutely love it all!

Have you bought anything from Make up Revolution yet?
