What I use to bronze, contour and highlight

Hi Beauts.

Only recently have I started to bronze and contour on a daily basis. I dipped in and out of it for a while but didn't really add it into my every day make up routine, because I felt I wasn't that good at it.
However, for the past few weeks I've bronzed and contoured each morning, and have had a few comments on my make up from people I work with.
So today, I figured I'd share which products and brushes I use as I thought it might help some of my fellow pale chicks out there.

After applying my foundation and powder, I go in with my FashionistA bronzer in the shade 'LA' and use my Real Techniques blush brush. I never use this as a blush brush as I feel it's too big for what I want. This bronzer is pretty neutral with a small warmth to it which is perfect for my skin tone

Next for contour. I recently bought myself the NYX blush in 'Taupe' after hearing how great it is for a contour shade. It is definitely cool toned and doesn't look muddy. I apply this with a very light hand on my Barbra Daily angled blush brush. I can see where the product needs to be now, but found it very helpful to do the fish face when I was first starting out.

Third but not last is blush. I think everyone wears blush right? Again I apply this with an angled blush brush, and apply it on top and just above where I contoured. I'm currently using and loving the Make Up Revolution blush palette in 'Sugar and Spice. I love each shade, in particular then third from the left on the bottom

And last in my little routine is highlight. I've been loving The Balm Mary-Loumaniser lately and apply this to the very tops of my cheek bones with the elf blush brush, as it's quite a small brush and applies just enough product

Well, that's my easy peasy routine. As I say this has now become part of my every day make up and I really enjoy wearing it. On a day to day basis I do contour quite lightly and tend to deepen the colour for an evening.

What do you use for bronzing and contouring?

Review - Real Techniques blush brush

Hi Beauts.

Ever since I started wearing make up, I've always used an angled brush to apply my blush. However lately I've been wanting to try something new, so I decided to try out the Real Techniques blush brush.

I'm a huge fan of the Real Techniques brushes already, I currently have the expert face brush and stippling brush in my collection so couldn't wait to try this one out.

The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was how soft it was, yet another great quality brush. Like I mentioned earlier I bought this to apply my blush, but whilst doing so I found it too large for me. I don't apply my blush to the apples of my cheeks, I apply it around the area where I'd usually contour. Because the brush (for me personally) was too large for blush, I ended up with too much product on my cheeks.

Instead of giving up, I decided to try this bad boy out for applying bronzer. Bobs ya uncle it worked fab. To me, this has the perfect density and is the perfect size to use as a bronzing brush (again it's too large for contouring) and because it's so soft it picks up just the right amount of product.

Even though I don't use this for what it was made for, I'd still absolutely recommend giving it a bash.

Does anyone else find it too large for a blush brush? Or am I being too picky?

This retails for £9.99 in Boots and Superdrug and £8.99 from Fragrance Direct.

Let's haul shall we?

Hi Beauts.

As you may or may not know, I put myself on a spending ban throughout September purely because I own a silly amount of make up. However, September has been and gone which means I can spend until my hearts content. Well that's a lie because I don't have a money tree in the back garden.

I have been shopping though, and picked up a few bits that I thought I'd share with you all. None of which, may I just add, were on my October wishlist........

Superdrug online:

Superdrug coconut oil £1.52. I really need a decent hair mask and decided to give this a shot

Superdrug pure cleansing gel and mattifying moisturiser £1.78 each. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect skincare routine, so the testing continues

Batiste dry shampoo 'Tropical' £2.99. My holy grail hair product.....enough said?

Sleek face contour kit 'Light' £6.49. I've drooled over for this for way too long so finally bit the bullet and bought it - loving it btw!!

Fragrance direct:

NYC applelicious glossy balm 'Garnet Gala' 99p. I've wanted to try this and thought at 99p I had to have it

NYC metro quartet eyeshadow 'Riverside Park' 99p. I saw a few swatches of this online and it looked so pretty - into my basket it went

Real Techniques blush brush £8.99. Another product I've been in two minds about, and it was a little cheaper online so who was I to pass that up?

Other:

NYX Bluch 'Pinched' £6.00. I actually bought this in Next. NYX tweeted about Next stoking some of their items, so I had to run straight out and check out what they had

Radox Cherry blast shower gel £1.00 from Wilkinsons. I LOVE anything cherry flavoured or scented so I just had to get this

Not a massive or really interesting haul but I'm excited to try everything out properly :) What have you been buying lately?
