Gosh Velvet touch eyeliner review

Hi Beauts.

I wouldn't say that I have sensitive eyes, but whenever I use a pencil liner my eyes seem to water slightly in the corners and I end up looking like a panda. I also have trouble keeping liner along my water line throughout the day, again hello panda!
One of the first waterproof liners I ever tried was the Gosh velvet in Black Ink I figured, it's waterproof so it has to stay put right?

After using these liners for probably 9 months to a year, I have to say they are the best high street liner I've used. They're smooth and creamy to apply so there's no dragging on your eyes (nobody wants premature wrinkles), they're very pigmented and they are indeed waterproof. Applied to my waterline I got are ounce 5 wear before I noticed the colour payoff start to drop to my lower lashline. My tight line, I got pretty much all day, my lower lashline I'd say I got 3 hours before it started to fade but not drop, and as for my upper lashline it basically stayed put until I removed my make up.

I'd say these are a good alternative (not a dupe) to the urban decay 24/7 liners, although I do find the urban decay ones a little more creamy and last a little longer. But for (£4.99) each and a wide variety of shades, I'm certainly not complaining.

Have you tried these?

P.S Love felt tip eyeliner

Hi Beauts.

Two of my Holy Grail products have to be both the MUA extreme felt liner and e.l.f's waterproof liquid liner pen. They're both easy to use, extremely opaque and budge proof. And unfortunately both just happened to run out around the same time.
I had intended to repurchase the MUA pen as it was easier to get hold of than the elf one, but I spotted Primark's very own version - P.S LOVE - and for £1.50, I thought it was worth a go.

I can usually tell straight away whether or not I'll like a product, and after using this the first time I loved it. This has to be the easiest to use from the 3 I've tried (MUA, elf and this one)
When I swatched it on the back of my hand I noticed that the tip wasn't flexible, which is what I usually look for as I find them easier to use.

However, my opinion soon changed when I applied a thin line and flick to my eye. It took one quick swipe of the pen to get an opaque, straight and perfect line! I normally draw the flick then create a line along my lashes and join the two, but with this liner I was able to start from my inner corner and apply the whole thing in one go.
As with the other two liners, this is super opaque and doesn't budge at all. I applied a swatch to the back of my hand and barely gave it time to dry before I tried rubbing it away. It dried pretty much instantly and didn't smudge at all.

I never really thought about trying out Primark's make up in the past, but if this eyeliner is anything to go by I can't wait to try out more!

Have you bought anything from the P.S Love range?

Review: Urban Decay 24/7 liner in perversion

Hi Beauts.

One thing that is a must in my make up bag is a black eyeliner, whether it's a liquid, gel or pencil. The only problem I have with pencil is that it always smudges and makes me look like a panda.

I'd been after the Urban Decay 24/7 glide on pencil in Perversion for so long after hearing so many great things about it. Now, after using it I don't think I'll try any other pencil liners.

Lets start with how well it worked on the tight line. If I don't want an intense eye look I apply this to my tight line to make my lashes look darker, and to add a little depth. The UD pencils are extremely pigmented and smooth to apply, and I didn't need to pull on eye (always a bonus) When I first applied it it transferred to my waterline, but that was easily removed with a cotton bud. However after around 30 seconds it didn't budge. It didnt drop at all thoughout the day and lasted until I removed my make up - around 8 hours

Now, for waterline. I only usually wear black liner on my waterline if I'm going on a night out to make my look more dramatic as it tends to make my eyes look smaller. And up until now, it always smudged. Again it was smooth and creamy to apply with no tugging. I got the same amount of wear as I did when I wore it on my tightline with no smudging or dropping under my eyes. I did apply a small amount to my lower lashline and smudged it no problem for a smokey effect - once it's set it ain't going nowhere.

Quick round up:

These pencils are extremely pigmented, creamy to apply, smudge proof and last all day with no smudging. If like me, you usually have black rings under your eyes from liner dropping, you won't have that problem anymore.

Price - £14.00
Product - 1.13g
Shades - 52 (according to Debenhams) 50 (according to H.O.F)

Have you tried these pencils? What's your favourite shade?

E.l.f waterproof eyeliner

Hi Beauts.

One shop I was mega excited about discovering in NYC (or rather my cousin spotted it) qas the e.l.f studio - I didn't know such a thing existed! There was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity to take a peek inside and buy a few goodies. The store itself was all white and had all of the products around the sides, definitely looked fresh and sophisticated!

Can we have an elf studio in Newcastle pretty please?

I did buy a few things and one product that I've used every day since I bought it is the waterproof eyeliner.

I'm a huge fan of MUA extreme felt liner so wasn't sure if I'd like this one or not, I don't like change sometimes.  This time however I welcome it with open arms. Felt tip eyeliner pens have fast become my favourite type of liquid liner to use, I find them so much easier to control than gel or regular liquid liner. And this bad boy hasn't let me down. I will admit, when I first used it I wasn't so sure that I'd like it as the tip is solid where as the MUA one is a little flexible.  However I persevered and found that because it wasn't at all flexible, I could create a straighter, neater and thinner line.

The product itself is extremely opaque, and isn't too wet like some other liquid liners that I've tried. As far as it being waterproof, I completely agree. Once applies this ain't budging until you use soap and water. I think I may have found my new fave liner :) Thanks elf!!

What's your favourite liquid liner?

(there seems to be a phantom picture kicking about on this page for some odd reason, don't worry it's not supposed to be there :p)

Feeling blue - NOTD and EOTD

Hi Beauts.

Whilst camping at the weekend, here's the post on my lifestyle blog, I bought a new nail polish and eyeliner from Boyes for £1.00 each. The nail polish is in the shade 'Sea Siren' and the eyeliner is 'Turquoise' I thought why not have matching eyes and nails? Here's what I came up with :)

I love both the Liner and polish! They're gorgeous shades and perfect for summer, I thought is add a bit of sparkle on my ring finger so used Sinful Colors 'nail junkie'

Would you match your make up with your nails?

I'd love for you to follow my lifestyle blog :)
