Beauty UK lipstick in Snob

Hi Beauts.

Superdrug have a lot to answer for when it comes to my ever expanding lipstick collection. I always manage to buy a new lipstick or gloss whenever I 'pop in for shampoo' etc

One of the newest lippies to join my make up bag is Beauty UK's 'Snob'

Now, I have had my eye on this one for a while but never got around to buying it. However after many weeks of being unsure, I just thought 'meh why not' So into my basket it went.

This shade is such a 'me shade' as my cousin would probably tell you. I always go for mauve's or dusky pinks, and I'd say this falls into the latter of the two. It's a dusky, blue toned pink and it's absolutely gorgeous!

I'd never tried any of Beauty UK lip products before this one so wasn't sure what the formula and staying power would be like.

Let's kick it of with pigmentation, application and formula shall we? The pigmentation is intense, the swatch on my wrist and lips is only one swipe, and you can see how opaque it is. I do find it to be a little drying to apply, it isn't as smooth as a glossier lipstick but I think the formula may be a matte even though it doesn't say so.

However, it doesn't feel so matte or drying on the lips. It isn't super smooth but I can mush my lips together with ease (does that sentence even make any sense? I'm sure you girls know what I mean) And it isn't so dry that you have to drag it along your lips, but it doesn't glide on so you do have to apply a little more pressure.

Now for staying power: I applied this just before leaving for work at 6:30 am and when I checked again at 8 am it was still pretty much perfect. However, the next day I had a little snack in between those times and did notice when I checked again, it had worn off quite a lot and I needed to reply. However, which lipstick really stays on strong after eating?

Without eating, I'd say I got around maybe 3 and a half hours decent wear before needing to touch up,  which I think is pretty good going!

This is £3.49 from Superdrug and the Beauty UK website

Have you tried any of Beauty UK's lipsticks? What's your favourite shade?

Make Up Revolution lipstick in Enchant

Hi beauts.

Quite a while back now, I posted a small haul post of some Make up revolution products that I bought. I've already reviewed a few other products which I have linked at the end, and wanted to share my thought on the lipstick in Enchant that I got. I wasn't too sure which colour to pick out when I placed my order, so went for the safe option of a pink

As soon as I opened this, I knew I'd get so much use out of it. Although I have quite a few pink shades in my collection already, I don't have one like this.

I'd describe the shade as a medium blue toned pink, and if you love purple pinks then you'll be a fan of this.

I figured from swatching it that it would be a very creamy formula, and as I applied it to my lips I was right. It's probably the creamiest, smoothest lipstick I own, it literally glides on like butter and left my lips feeling moisturised.

Can such a creamy lipstick be long lasting? It can indeed. I first applied this at 7am, and 2 hours, a cup of coffee and a Milky Way later, my lipstick was still intact. Granted it wasn't as vibrant as it was at 7am but I still had a fair amount of colour and my lips still felt moisturised.
I did wear off completely by around 11am which in my opinion, is amazing!!

I can't wait to try out more shades!

Which colour should I next add to my collection?

May Favourites 2014

Hi Beauts.

I have to say, even though it's only May, I've had an amazing year so far and the fun is just beginning! Anyway, once again it's time to share with you all my monthly favourites:

* Superdrug uplifting red cherry and fig shampoo and conditioner - These are so inexpensive, but so amazing. They both leave my hair feeling ridiculously sort and smell gorgeous!!

* MUA matte perfect primer - I ran out of my Along came Betty 'fix me' mattifying stick, and have finally found something to rival it. This stuff is amaze balls. The smallest amount is all that you need, it keeps me looking matte and helps my make up stay put pretty much all day

* Elf Peachy Keen blush - This is a rediscovery, and it's pretty much the only blush I've used for the past 3 weeks. It gives a gorgeous glow to the face, and is perfect for the days I didn't want to wear a berry/pink shade

* Beauty UK Snob lipstick - I love this shade! I have a full review here if you want to read my full thoughts. But in a nutshell, this is a gorgeous dusky pink, it's in between a matte and satin finish and lasts reasonably well

* Make up revolution iconic 3 palette - I never thought I'd wear anything pink on my eyes as I'm cool toned and usually warm shadows make me look ill. However, I haven't been able to stop usong this palette the whole month of May. It has a great range of shadows, every one of them is pigmented and they're so smooth and easy to blend out

I also have to add a couple of songs that I've had on constant repeat, because they're just too amazing not to share with you all:

* Anastasia - Stupid little things
* Jason Derulo - Karma Sutra
* Jason Derulo - Fire
* Paloma Faith - Only love can hurt like this

What have you been loving Beauts?

MUA Intense kisses in 'sealed with a kiss'

Hi Beauts.

If I could only have three make up products in my collection, they'd have to be concealer, mascara and lipgloss.
I have an overflowing drawer as it is, but I just couldn't resist adding one more gloss to my collection. A while back Ms Budget Beauty did a make up look using MUA products, and one of said products was their intense kisses in 'sealed with a kiss'

As soon as she applied it I knew I had to have it because it looked to me, like the perfect nude shade. However whenever I looked in store it was always sold out, so this just made me lust after it even more. After FINALLY getting my mitts on it, I've literally worn it every day and it has fast become my favourite go to lip product.

Unlike other lip glosses I own, this one is super pigmented, very opaque and really glossy without being sticky.
I thing the shade is a teeny bit pink toned which I never usually go for, but it's a nude that I can definitely get away with.

As I mentioned, it's very pigmented so the colour payoff is incredible. In fact, I'd put this somewhere in between a lipstick and a lipgloss - the intensity of a lipstick and the formular and finish of a gloss. Application is so smooth, it applies just like butter, and the high opaqueness means that you only need to alley one coat and you're rocking the perfect nude lip.

I'd say I got around 3 to 4 hours wear out of this which I think is incredible for a gloss, usually I get around half an hour and I find myself needing to reapply.
I'm so impressed with this, I think more shades may need to be added to my collection.....well, a girl can never have too many lip products, right?!

Have you tried these? What's your favourite shade?

Along came Betty lipstick duo - Double whammy

Hi Beauts.

One of my favourite make up items to buy is lipstick, a girl can never have too many right? When I picked up some products from the Along Came Betty range in Tesco (haul post here), I noticed this 'Double Whammy' which is a lipstick and lip gloss duo.

There were three shades/combo's to choose from so I went for the shade Poochy, which was the more neutral/every day shade on the shelf.
MUA released a similar product last year called Lip Booms which had a lipstick on one side and a lip gloss with chunky glitter particles on the other side. Unlike that gloss, this one is smooth, with small non chunky shimmer in it and isn't on the sticky side. It isn't overly pigmented but definitely gives a nice sheen to your lips. I'd say the shade is a wearable frosty baby pink, and when applied on top of the lipstick in the centre of the lips, gives a gorgeous shine and makes your lips a little more poutier.

The lipstick, however, is really pigmented and is smooth to apply. The shade is a deep pink toned mauve and is so pretty, I've worn it so much. I'm even considering going back to pick up a back up!

When I wear the lipstick alone, I'd say I get around 3 hours wear, which I think is great, and when I apply the lipstick and gloss I get about 2 hours which I'm pretty impressed with too. The lipstick isn't drying either when worn alone which I have found before with duo lip products. Although this is a little on the chunky side, it's still perfect for travelling with as it saves you chucking a lipstick and gloss in your bag.

Do you like these types of lip products too?

Marks and Spencer Limited lipstick in Blushed Pink

Hi Beauts.

Many moons ago (or months if you will) I bought a lipstick from the M&S Limited range, and because I have a ridiculous amount of lipsticks I've only just remembered that I have it.
The shade I picked up is blushed pink which isn't exactly what I'd say the colour is. To me, it's more of an orange toned red - like a robins chest (I'm sure I've used that term before, but that's what it reminds me of)

This is a super pigmented lipstick, literally a quick swipe across your lips and your set. It's not a creamy or dry formula, but it does glide on really smoothly without dragging. I applied this at 7 am and when I checked just before 9 am I noticed I'd lost a little colour in the centre of my lips, but still had full pigmentation around the outside. The loss of colour wasn't too noticeable, I just mushed my lips together and had an even coverage again.

I'd say this lasted around 4 hours before I'd need to reapply, it did wear off gradually and sometimes a little unevenly, but because it wasn't drying it meant I could just rub my lips together and get an even amount of colour again.
These lipsticks retail at £6.00 for 4.4g of product which I think is a pretty good bargain. I think I may need to pick up a few more shades, maybe lighter ones and see if they're as long lasting and pigmented too.

So far M&S, I'm impressed.

Have you tried anything from the Marks and Spencer make up range yet?
