Hi Beauts.

I have a bit of a different post for y'all today, my bucket list. I personally think life's too short not to have fun and do what makes you happy, and there's a huge world out there to see! Life shouldn't be about going to work, coming home and making dinner then going to bed just to do it all over again the next day. Life should be an adventure.

My Grandad had SO many stories to tell us all, and even though he had a hard life he had a great one. I want to be like him, full of funny stories and endless adventures so I decided to compile a bucket list and make sure I do everything on it!

31 blushes of October

Hi Beauts.

I was going through my make up the other day to pull out all of the products I hadn't used in a while  and show them some love. Whilst doing so I realised the ridiculous amount of blushes that I own, and I have to say it is quite stupid to have so many. So what I've decided to do is use a different blush each day of October and get rid of the ones I don't like. I'm going to do  a weekly post on a Monday showing which blushes I'm using that week, then maybe at the end of the month do an overview.  Without further ado,  here are this weeks choices:

MONDAY:

Benefit Coralista

TUESDAY:

NYC Color Wheel mosaic face powder in 'Scarlet letter'

WEDNESDAY:

e.l.f Peachy Keen

THURSDAY:

MAC Desert Rose

FRIDAY:

Natural Collection Rosey Glow

SATURDAY:

Rimmel lasting finish in 'Summer Fever'

SUNDAY:

MUA Shade 5

Which blush are you currently loving?

September favourites

Hi Beauts.

Where has the summer gone? Everyone seems to be looking forward to winter, can't say that I am if I'm honest..... Bah Humbug......It's time once again for me to share my favourite products from the glorious month of September. A lot of these things are actually things I bought in NYC as I've been trying them all out this past month.

Face:

Rimmel stay matte foundation £5.99. I tried a sample of this a few weeks ago and loved it, so went straight out and bought the full size. It's matte, has great coverage and lasts all day.

e.l.f baked blush in pinktastic £3.75. To me, this is more of a highlighter than a blush, and that's what I've been using it for. It gives a gorgeous healthy glow to the cheekbones without looking like a disco ball. I absolutely love it.

Eyes

Maybelline color tattoo in Barely there. I already have a color tattoo in On and On bronze and love it. This shade makes a great base for all eyeshadow as it's a neutral toned champagne shade, and it looks great when worn alone

E.l.f waterproof liquid eyeliner £1.50. I wasn't so sure about this at first, but I've used it everyday now. It allows a tin precise line, lasts all day and doesn't smudge.

Lips

Revlon lip butter in Strawberry Shortcake £7.99. I have two other shades in the lip butters but have had my eye on this one for a while. It's the perfect every day pink, and like the others, it's moisturising and very glossy

Other

Bath and Body works hand sanitiser in Sweet Pea. It's more the scent than the product I've been loving it's such a pretty summer fruity kinda scent. I think I may need to buy me the body lotion too!

DIY Muscle T

Hi Beauts.

One item of clothing that I'll be sure to wear come rain or shine is a muscle Tee. I bought a Guns n Roses one from Primark and loved it so much that I thought I'd give making my own a go.

Today's post is a little DIY post, and I'm going to show you how I turn a Tshirt into a Muscle T.

What you'll need:

An over sized Tshirt (I use mens size small)
A ruler
A pair of sharp scissors

What I do:

Take a Tshirt of your choice and lie it somewhere flat. Then measure 4cm from the seam of the sleeve

Then cut from the shoulder to just below where the seam of the sleeve ends

Now all you need to do is stretch out the the material so it doesn't look wobbly (I can't cut straight for all the tea in China!) Just place a finger at either end of the new 'sleeve' you just made and pull

Bobs ya uncle, you now have your very own muscle T :)

Do you like to get creative? What's your favourite thing to make?

Creativity is contagious, pass it on!

E.l.f waterproof eyeliner

Hi Beauts.

One shop I was mega excited about discovering in NYC (or rather my cousin spotted it) qas the e.l.f studio - I didn't know such a thing existed! There was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity to take a peek inside and buy a few goodies. The store itself was all white and had all of the products around the sides, definitely looked fresh and sophisticated!

Can we have an elf studio in Newcastle pretty please?

I did buy a few things and one product that I've used every day since I bought it is the waterproof eyeliner.

I'm a huge fan of MUA extreme felt liner so wasn't sure if I'd like this one or not, I don't like change sometimes.  This time however I welcome it with open arms. Felt tip eyeliner pens have fast become my favourite type of liquid liner to use, I find them so much easier to control than gel or regular liquid liner. And this bad boy hasn't let me down. I will admit, when I first used it I wasn't so sure that I'd like it as the tip is solid where as the MUA one is a little flexible.  However I persevered and found that because it wasn't at all flexible, I could create a straighter, neater and thinner line.

The product itself is extremely opaque, and isn't too wet like some other liquid liners that I've tried. As far as it being waterproof, I completely agree. Once applies this ain't budging until you use soap and water. I think I may have found my new fave liner :) Thanks elf!!

What's your favourite liquid liner?

(there seems to be a phantom picture kicking about on this page for some odd reason, don't worry it's not supposed to be there :p)

Life's a beach

Sunday 28th July 2013

'Under the sea..........'

Hi Beauts.

Usually the sound of the rain belting down on the windows on a Sunday morning is calming, relaxing.....oh wait! Not in the summer it isn't! Damn you English weather!
Today we had so many fun plans: Tea and cake in a little tea room, the aquarium in Tynemouth, chips on the beach, building sandcastles (once again, I assure you I'm in my 20's!) and topping it all off with ice cream. Well sod you rain we did it anyway.

First stop was a cool little tearoom not far from Tynemouth metro station called Rene's for a pot of tea and a fruit scone, such ladies we are :P

After we'd fueled up on tea we headed down along the seafront in the direction of the Blue reef aquarium. And I'd like to point out by this time the sun had put his hat on :D

Now one thing I'm going to point out about the aquarium is that I personally think it's overpriced. It's £9.00 for an adult and it literally takes about 15-20 minutes to walk around the whole place. That aside, I do think it's a great day out and I tell ya that's the only time I want to ever get so close to a shark. I think my favourite part was the glass tunnel, even though it's a really short tunnel it's amazing to have sting rays and sharks swim overhead. There's also a huge 'pool' where the seals are and they have big windows around it so you can watch them all swim about. If the weather's nice, they also allow you to go up to the top where the pool is open and stand around watching the seals pop their little heads up. Cuteness right there!

We then decided that because the weather had eventually turned itself around, we'd walk to cullercoats and sit on the beach with a bag of chips. Any trip to the beach (as you may well know now) isn't complete without a) a bucket and spade b) a plodge in the sea c) building sandcastles Obviously all of those things did happen. You're only as old as you feel right?

I didn't realise at the time, but hello scary face in the cave!!!

To finish off what had been a Funday Sunday, we walked along the seafront to Whitley Bay and had ice cream. Once again I was daring and instead of vanilla I had.......liquorice  and Blackcurrent. HEAVEN on a cone it was delicious!! And a little weird.

If you don't do anything stupid when you're young, you won't remember anything funny when you're old

Maybelline Babylips in Berry Bomb

Hi Beauts.

Most beauty lovers already caved into the hype about the babylips, am I right ladies? I certainly did. After buying one I knew that I wanted to get a few other shades as I really enjoy using it, I think it's such a pretty and subtle shade. Rather than buying more in the UK and waited until my trip to NYC just in case they had more shades available, ones we don't have. And yup, they did. However rather than them being reds and pinks, they werw purple and green and orange to name a few. And to me, the shades reminded me of highlighter pens! I definitely wanted to try one out so picked up the purple one for me and the orange for my sister, kinda wish I'd have pixked up the green to see what it was like.

I wasn't sure what to expect upon opening this but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. There's Definitely a hint of purple, but it's very subtle and completely wearable. I asked my sister if she the one she has gives off any orange colour, and again she said it does but a very subtle and wearable amount. As far as how moisturising and glossy they are, they're exactly the same as the babylips that have already hit our shelves. If you're a bit of a lip balm junkie then I'd definitely give these a whirl

Which is your favourite shade of babylips?

Sandy sandwiches and Ice cream

Saturday 27th July 2013 - Let's hit the beach

'Ohhhhh I do like to be beside the seaside......'

Hi Beauts.

Well another sunny day up North which can only mean one thing: BEACH! Many things need to happen on the rare occasion in England when the sun is beaming down, two of which include a trip to the beach and ice cream. Needless to say both of these things happened.

First we decided we'd sit our butts down in the park on the way down to the beach and enjoy some fresh air, sun, music and a little old picnic (The food wasn't old, I promise....eww!) It's nice to see the mass amounts of families out and about enjoying picnics and games, the sun always makes people happy - me included.

A few hours later we'd had enough of the bands sound check and the continuous use of the numbers '1..2,1..2,' so we headed for the lake and floated (peddled like crazy people) on the pedalos for a wee while. Why don't ducks seem to understand that there's a big ass boat heading for them?! They don't bloody move! No ducks were injured in the making of this blog post.

Our time was up so we decided we'd top up our tans on the beach and enjoy a nice cold ice cream. Now one thing you should know about me is that I'm the most boring person in the world when it comes to ice cream. Vanilla is my flavour, plain and simple but classic ;) HOWEVER I decided to go for something called 'Blue Moon' which was basically tutti-frutti with smarties. How's that for change?! And for the record it was delicious.

We ended our day having roly poly races down the sand dunes and making sand angels....yup I really am in my 20's.

Enjoy life when you can, you're a long time dead!
